Marigold Morning

You left marigolds on my window sill

Orange like the sky when the world goes still

Filter coffee steaming, two cups, one spoon

You hum off-key to an old film tune

Scooter rides through the morning haze

My cheek on your shoulder through the traffic maze

Nobody told me love could be this small

A folded note, a missed call, and you, that's all

Marigold morning, you're my golden hour

Soft as the rain on a temple flower

Every little thing you do

Paints my whole day in a brighter hue

Grandma's kitchen, you steal a sweet

She pretends to scold, then fills your plate to eat

Monsoon puddles, we jump right in

Muddy and laughing like we're kids again

Nobody told me love could be this small

A folded note, a missed call, and you, that's all

Marigold morning, you're my golden hour

Soft as the rain on a temple flower

Every little thing you do

Paints my whole day in a brighter hue

Marigold morning, stay a while
