Marigold Monday

Mm, the alarm can wait

You're humming in the kitchen and I'm running late

Steel tumbler coffee and your sleepy grin

Monday at the door but I won't let it in

Flowers on the balcony bending to the light

You fix my collar and you fix my night

Bus stop umbrellas in a yellow row

You make the boring things begin to glow

Little paper notes inside my lunch

I don't say it loud but I love you a bunch

Slow, slow, take it slow

Some things only Mondays know

Marigold Monday, you make the dull days bright

Turmeric sunlight, everything feels right

Even the traffic hums a melody

Marigold Monday, you're the bloom in me

Clock keeps ticking but I'm not in a rush

Your voice on the phone is a velvet hush

Petals in your hair from the temple gate

Every time I see you feels like fate

Ooh, if the week is long

You're the hook in my song

Marigold Monday, you make the dull days bright

Turmeric sunlight, everything feels right

Even the traffic hums a melody

Marigold Monday, you're the bloom in me

Marigold Monday

Stay, stay
